Every connection,shaped intobonsai.
The word “JUME” symbolizes
“living things marking time as they change form.”
Nature, people, culture, and time—
every connection transformed into a new form.
An art that makes the pulse of life visible.
A moment when something still feels alive, even without moving.
JUME BONSAI expresses the quiet resonance of life.
PRODUCT
-
The beauty of life,set free.
-
-
Free from the constraints of water and light, JUME BONSAI uses Tosa washi (traditional Japanese handmade paper) and proprietary techniques to express the passage of time and natural weathering. Recreating even the textures of moss and soil, SHOKEI does not imitate life—it expresses the beauty of life through bonsai.

Bonsai shaped by time, alive with tradition and skill.

MUKU sees the cracks of decayed trunks and the twists of branches as traces of life, elevating them through the aesthetics of wabi-sabi and traditional techniques. Preserving the forms shaped by wind, rain, and time, it is a new expression of bonsai that gives form to the memory of life.

PRODUCER
A new form of bonsai,
inscribed with the passage of life.
Bonsai is an art of contemplating life and time. Grown, decayed, and yet leaving a form behind—I believe every part of that journey is part of its beauty. JUME goes beyond the conventional idea that bonsai is simply something to be grown, reconstructing the passage of life itself as art.
I see this new form of bonsai as a “quiet revolution” that will take root in Japanese culture for the future.

CRAFTSMANSHIP
Bonsai that holds the memory of life,
created only by one who truly knows bonsai.
Bonsai Artist MARIKO Daisuke, who founded JUME, has spent many years working closely with living bonsai.
That is why he understands the weight of life, the meaning of time, and the emotion held in a single branch. Neither MUKU nor SHOKEI could have been created without that knowledge and sensibility.
These are not mere imitations; they are expressions of bonsai possible only because their creator has nurtured living bonsai and witnessed the full course of their lives.
