A new form of bonsai, born from connection.

JUME BONSAI was born from a desire to give form to the connections between nature and people.
Trees bud through the changing seasons and eventually decay.
Their pulse of life may quietly fade, yet the beauty held within them is never lost.
While learning from the traditions of bonsai, we sought a new expression that elevates the passage of time as things decay and age into beauty.
Our encounter with Tosa washi (traditional Japanese handmade paper) and proprietary shaping techniques expanded that pursuit, giving rise to the brand under the name JU (Tree) + ME (Life).
By giving form to memories of life that endure beyond time, JUME BONSAI seeks to connect nature with people, and one culture with another.

MindMind

A new form of bonsai, inscribed with the passage of life.

Bonsai is an art of contemplating life and time. Grown, decayed, and yet leaving a form behind—I believe every part of that journey is part of its beauty. JUME goes beyond the conventional idea that bonsai is simply something to be grown, reconstructing the passage of life itself as art.
I see this new form of bonsai as a “quiet revolution” that will take root in Japanese culture for the future.
